The Android OS has gotten quite a bit of buzz lately and, while we at Vringo like to think we’re immune to hype, we… well, let’s just say we’re smitten.

So smitten that we’ve developed and launched the Android platform’s first and only video ringtone and social caller ID application.

Be one of the first to try it:  point your phone’s browser to http://android.vringo.com and go wild!

(With the app, not only will you be able to create your own video ringtones, you’ll also be able to send them to other Vringo users — on BlackBerry, Symbian, J2ME and Windows Mobile — just by calling.  C’mon!)

We don’t usually like to brag, but we’ll make an exception for this award, won in conjunction with Turkish carrier Avea for our video ringtone launch. (See below for a screenshot depicting the Avea user experience!)

Oh, and did we mention we’re expanding our partnership with Avea to reach their entire subscriber base later this summer?
